Gage

Gage

Ollie Gillard, aka Gage, is a street artist and graphic designer based in Bristol.  For over ten years he has been painting large commissioned murals on buildings, in homes and on vehicles. The majority of his work is done with spray cans and water based paint. His art often incorporates colourful plants, animals and detailed landscapes but he also enjoys painting characters and developing his graffiti style.

What Gage likes most about painting murals is the ability to bring nature back into the urban landscape, breathing life into soulless offices or splashing a colourful landscape onto grey, run-down buildings. He continues to paint his unique murals in the UK, France and further afield.

Ollie on Human Nature

Humans are part of nature, and like every other species on the planet we depend upon healthy ecosystems for our survival. Yet we are witnessing the destruction of essential habitats around the world, pushing species to extinction, polluting the very ecosystem we depend on and barely considering the outcomes of such actions. It is sad to watch money triumph over nature.

It’s time to take responsibility and artists can help deliver a strong message to the world, especially with the growth of social media. I believe the Human Nature show is a great way to discover this subject and to observe how international artists relate to their environments and to a changing world.
